Meet the SHY Team!

We have the best trained teachers to guide you through your Yoga journey! Our instructors are all minimally 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified with many above and beyond with additional trainings and continuing education courses. They are devoted to instill confidence and motivate you to evolve with your practice.

Our teachers offer a variety within each class, will give options and modifications for those newer to yoga or recovering from injury. Each of our teachers bring a different training, yoga philosophy, personality and energy to any given class. Variety is the spice of life! That also proves true for our yoga practice! The more variety of styles and teachers you take, the more your body moves in different ways to open up and become stronger, leaner, more flexible, challenged, balanced and adaptable in Mind, Body and Soul. Jim has had an interest in sports from a very early age. Wanting to maintain his active lifestyle Jim was introduced to yoga in the 90’s. He has been certified to teach The Barkan Method of Hot Yoga since 2010. Jim is also a PSIA Level 2 Ski Instructor for Vail Resorts.

Deby has been certified to teach since 2005. She received her 500 HR certification with Mark Stephens and is certified to teach Hot Yoga, Hatha, Restorative, Vinyasa Styles, Yoga Sculpt and Barre. Deby loves to share the many benefits and mindfulness of Yoga.

Latonya was placed in ballet classes at the age of 3 to correct problems with her feet & legs & a passion for movement and music was ignited. She is Core Power certified Level I, II since 2010 & is also certified in Yoga Sculpt and Restorative. Expect to be energized!

Jes began practicing Ashtanga vinyasa yoga in 2003 & received her certification in 2011. Jes emphasizes a rigorous practice with attention to alignment & breath. Her favorite places to be are upside down on her hands or outside in the sunshine or snow to explore.

Kelly stumbled into yoga as a way to rehab a knee injury; it didn't take long to realize it would be a lifelong practice and passion. She guides an accessible class to encourage a challenge for students and to turn inwards with compassion and curiosity.

Susan has a multitude of yoga styles she loves! She can teach Hot Yoga, Vinaysa, Ashtanga, Restorative, Children's and Seniors Yoga. The love of teaching and her infectious happiness will be felt in her classes. Be ready to get inspired, nurtured and centered.

Sarah's love for wellness started at a young age in the dance studio and from her mom's passion for a healthy lifestyle. In addition to Yoga/Yoga Sculpt certs she is working on her Functional Fitness Certifcation. Expect high energy, fun music, and a good workout.

Yoga entered Thea’s life in 2009, after being diagnosed with breast cancer. A breast cancer survivor of 9 surgeries, she often attributes her recovery to yoga, saying it has “truly saved her life.” Thea has also taught Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, & Biomechanics.

Erin has studied in the lineage of T. Krishnamacharya's students, including B.K.S. Iyengar, T.K.V. Desikachar, and Gary Kraftsow, founder of American Viniyoga Institute. This model is focused on ancient teachings and their application in a therapeutic setting.

Ruth found Barre when she was looking to strengthen her leg after an ACL injury and has loved it ever since! She has 10 years of dance training in ballet, jazz, acrobatics, tap, and modern dance. She also has strong anatomy and physiology knowledge as she is a Registered Nurse!

Sammy took her Yoga training in Nepal and says, “This course has truly transformed my outlook on Yoga as a holistic approach to health.” She now looks forward to sharing and weaving the physical practice and holistic practice with you.

Kat began practicing yoga in 2011. She was certified in 2014. Kat's classes are thoughtful, dynamic & balanced with the intention to deepen the mind-body-soul relationship& explore the transformative potential of this practice both on and off the mat.

Core Power certified in Vinyasa and Yoga Sculpt. Lissy was a Lacrosse player at CSU & discovered yoga which helped her find a deeper connection to the mind & body. The most important thing in her teachings are to set students up for success both physically & mentally.

Chelsea first came to yoga in 2009 while training for a half marathon. She got certified in 2013 in Bali & Core Power in 2014. Through teaching yoga, Chelsea hopes to inspire others to find the same connection that she has with herself & with others, on and off the mat.

Mel earned her certification through the Bindu Yoga School in Bali, Indonesia. She has been practicing yoga for the past 12 years in Colorado and abroad. Mel focuses on yoga geared toward athletes and includes injury prevention techniques in many of her classes.

Kaitlins' extensive background in endurance sports, as well as coaching drives her passion for fitness. Kaitlin tried barre in 2012 and became fascinated by the small movements which work the tiny muscles throughout the body.

I first fell in love with yoga as a way to compliment my other active hobbies. My goal is to spread this knowledge which we call yoga, it is accessible for anyone to use as a self healing tool! Styles I love to practice, study and teach include vinyasa, acro, yin, restorative, and hatha.
