SHY's studio

Align your body, mind, and spirit with the most exciting studio around!

We have unique eco-friendly designed rooms with state of the art climate control, an indoor bathroom with shower, additional changing stalls and plenty of free parking. We have taken care and time to be precise with our technology to provide you the best experience at the studio.

Our state of the art heating and humidification systems will give you the experience of a life time. We take care to have air purification in place as well as safety precautions for CO2 levels in full rooms. We believe in using green products and have built the studio out as such to be environmentally friendly and healthy for you.

SHY classes

Yoga is a dynamic, energizing practice that sculpts, hones and tones every muscle in the body and mind. You don’t need to be especially flexible or incredibly fit to do yoga.

SHY offers great variety of classes, focusing on strength, flexibility, and balance with a holistic approach of nurturing the spirit. We offer 5-7 classes each and every day of the week to fit into almost anyones busy life.

Our classes include Power Flow, Hot Yoga - The Barkan Method, various Hot Vinyasa flows, Warm Flows, not so warm Flows, Ashtanga styles, Restorative, Yin and Yang Fusion, Yoga Sculpt (with weights) and Barre classes. Our instructors are all minimally 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified with many above and beyond with additional trainings and continuing education courses.

Each of our classes has been designed to heal, detoxify and exhilarate the mind. By incorporating varying degrees of heat and humidity in each of our classes you will be able to safely deepen into postures, boost your metabolism and most importantly detoxify the body through the largest elimination system, the skin. Like many before you, you will find that practicing yoga in a warm temperature.

SHY Tula iPhone App

SHY uses Tula Software for a user friendly experience. With the SHY/Tula App you will have a hands on view of the daily calender and monthly calendar all at the convenience of your iPhone.

This App will also allow you to manage your own personal account, credit cards and make purchases.

At SHY we strive to be as eco-friendly as possible and using this App on your iPhone allows us to not waste paper by eliminating the need for printed schedules and sending you electronic receipts for your purchases. It also gives the students clear and easy control of their accounts.

If you are a new student to SHY, you must create a student profile at the studio with a current email address then you will be able to set up the App on your iPhone.

SHY Newbie

Are you new to SHY? Have no worries our community of Yogi's and teachers are the most welcoming in Summit County. We offer a sense of Kula (community) within our studio. We only hire well educated and trained teachers to guide you along your path.

On your first visit, please arrive 20 minutes before class begins in order to meet your teacher and fill out our electronic new student form. This will give you time to change and relax on your mat before class. Please bring a mat, towel and a bottle of water with you. If you intend to shower after class please bring two towels – one for your mat during class and one for showering. For your convenience, we also rent mats and towels, and sell bottled water. We encourage you to avoid eating two hours before class. Also, please come to class well hydrated.

Yoga Etiquette:

We value the serenity of our yoga studio space. We ask that you please remove your shoes upon entering the lobby and that you store your belongings in the space given. Once inside the studio, please respect the silence of the practice space.

Our sense of community is an important component of who we are as a yoga studio. Our desire is that everyone who enters our studio will have a very positive experience and leave with a little more compassion and peace in their hearts from having been here.

Additional notes of etiquette:

  • Before class begins, please inform your teachers of any injuries.
  • Please do not bring mobile phones, shoes, or bags into the yoga room. You may leave your belongings in the common space alloted.
  • Please refrain from wearing strong perfume or cologne, as this may be disturbing to fellow students.

Latonya was placed in ballet classes at the age of 3 to correct problems with her feet & legs & a passion for movement and music was ignited. She is Core Power certified Level I, II since 2010 & is also certified in Yoga Sculpt and Restorative. Expect to be energized!

Jim has had an interest in sports from a very early age. Wanting to maintain his active lifestyle Jim was introduced to yoga in the 90’s. He has been certified to teach The Barkan Method of Hot Yoga since 2010. Jim is also a PSIA Level 2 Ski Instructor for Vail Resorts.

Deby has been certified to teach since 2005. She received her 500 HR certification with Mark Stephens and is certified to teach Hot Yoga, Hatha, Restorative, Vinyasa Styles, Yoga Sculpt and Barre. Deby loves to share the many benefits and mindfulness of Yoga.
